Homebrew Curse-kin Species Details

The curse-kin are those who have been cursed into a cat-like form by otherworldly beings, whether by a god, a fae, or a spirit. Though curse-kin are very similar to house cats, their size and other traits make them stand out to those more observant. Paws that appear misshapen until you see them move like a hand, eyes with a human-like intelligence, and of course...a voice; a voice as clear as any person's.

The curse-kin are an unfortunate bunch for they are often shunned, believed to bring their own ill-luck wherever they go. With even some legends saying that whatever kills a curse-kin is doomed to become one themselves.

The common tale of woe for a curse-kin is disrespecting an otherworldly being, whether intentional or not, and having the hair on their heads replaced with the pelt of a cat, turning them into a curse-kin. Though no one is quite sure whether to believe that.
