Homebrew Succubus Species Details

A deadly combination of lust and beauty, most are found in service to higher level demons and often wield subtle illusions and enchantments to tempt their victims into committing heinous and unspeakable acts. Despite this, they are able to mingle with and corrupt most mortal races with relative ease.

Succubi and incubi inhabit all of the Lower Planes, and the lascivious dark-winged fiends can be found in service to devils, demons, night hags, rakshasas, and yugoloths. Asmodeus, ruler of the Nine Hells, uses these fiends to tempt mortals to perform evil acts. The demon lord Graz'zt keeps succubi and incubi as advisers and consorts.

Though legend speaks of them separately, any succubus can become an incubus, and vice versa. Most of these fiends do have a preference for one form or the other. Mortals only rarely see a succubus or incubus in its true form, however, for the fiend typically begins its corruption in veiled, insidious ways.

BEAUTIFUL CORRUPTERS
When tempting, a succubus or incubus first appears in ethereal form, passing through walls like a ghost to lurk next to a mortal's bedside and whisper forbidden pleasures. Sleeping victims are tempted to give in to their darkest desires, indulge in taboos, and feed forbidden appetites. As the fiend fills the victim's dreams with debauched images, the victim becomes more susceptible to temptation in everyday life.

Inevitably, the fiend enters the mortal realm in tempting form to directly influence a creature's actions. Appearing in the guise of a humanoid who has previously appeared only in the victim's dreams, the succubus or incubus seduces or befriends its victim, indulging all its desires so that it performs evil acts of its own free will.

A mortal bequeaths its soul to the fiend not by formal pledge or contract. Instead, when a succubus or incubus has corrupted a creature completely - some say by causing the victim to commit the three betrayals of thought, word, and deed - the victim's soul belongs to the fiend. The more virtuous the fiend's prey, the longer the corruption takes, but the more rewarding the downfall. After successfully corrupting a victim, the succubus or incubus kills it, and the tainted soul descends into the Lower Planes.

The succubus or incubus resorts to charming a victim magically only when necessary, usually as a form of self defense. A charmed creature isn't responsible for its actions, so forcing it to behave against its will won't bring the fiend closer to the ultimate prize: the victim's soul.

DEADLY KISS
The kiss of a succubus or incubus is an echo of the emptiness that is the fiend's longing for a corrupted soul. Likewise, the recipient of the fiend's kiss gains no satisfaction from it, experiencing only pain and the profound emptiness that the fiend imparts. The kiss is nothing short of an attack, usually delivered as a final farewell before the fiend escapes.

FIENDISH OFFSPRING
Succubi and incubi can reproduce with one another to spawn more of their kind. Less commonly, a succubus or incubus reproduces with a humanoid. From this unholy union, a cambion child is conceived. Invariably, the fiendish offspring is as wicked as its fiendish parent.

SLENDER AND TONED
Incubi and Succubi appear almost totally human, but are horned, clawed, with a tail and wings, and can be rather tall, but are always extremely attractive. They are always slender, well-toned, and are very rarely overly muscular, but due to their shape changing abilities, often tweak their appearances, or even change them completely, to suit their needs or the desires of those they seduce.

SOLO PRACTITIONERS
Most Succubi and Incubi live among mortals in any land but far from others of their kind. If they work in too great a number, their deception can be more easily discovered as their success depends greatly on their existence being unknown by their victims.

After they have matured, they do not need to eat food as they are largely sustained by the life force of those they kiss, however they may eat to complete the mortal deception. This food does not sustain them as it turns to ash in the bellies.

MISSION OR EXILE
There are two main reasons that a Succubus/Incubus might go adventuring; first and most common is if they have been sent by a higher demon to infiltrate an adventuring party. The second and less common reason is if the lesser demon has been exiled for breaking a rule that their demonic master has set for them.

NAMES
These creatures will adopt any name that suits their profession. To know their actual name is to have power over them. Once their true name is known, that person becomes their  master.

Succubus Traits

..

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score is increased by 2, and your dexterity score is increased by 1.

Age

Succubi are ageless demons, typically reaching adulthood between the ages of 15 and 19 and will not die of old age.

Alignment

Being a type of demon, they are limited greatly in their alignment. Their very nature dictates that they must take life in order to live. They are never good and are, at best, fully neutral.  Most are some variation of chaotic or evil

Size

Their true size ranges from 5 feet to 8 feet. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You also have a flying speed of 60 feet.

Darkvsion

Your vision is not actually based on the perception of light in the same way that most mortal races are. Therefore, you are able to see in the dark to the same distance as you could in the light. The only difference for you in the dark is that you lose all perception of color and see things in shades of red.

Lust Fiend

Incubus/Succubus are fiends, and as a result suffer Vulnerability to Radiant damage. In addition their heritage prevents them from adopting divine classes. You cannot take levels in Cleric, Druid, Paladin, or other Divine classes.

Shapechanger

You can use your action to polymorph into a Small or Medium Humanoid Creature using this trait. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a short rest. Without wings, you lose your flying speed. Other than your Size and Speed, you keep your statistics in each form. Any equipment you are wearing or carrying isn't transformed with you, and may suffer damage if you transform into a different race. If you are transformed you may decide to revert to your true form without expending this ability, or you are incapacitated.

You may use this trait twice at Level 10, and three times at 20th Level.

Charm

You can use your action to charm a humanoid within 30 feet of you that you can see. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw vs your Spell Save DC, or they become charmed for 1 day. If the target suffers harm or is given a suicidal command, the target may repeat the Saving Throw, ending the effect on itself on a success. You can charm creatures with a CR equal to your Proficiency Bonus. After passed, or if they succeed the saving throw, the creature realizes they have been charmed and cannot be charmed by you for 24 hours after they were charmed. You can use this trait a number of times equal to half your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Telepathic Bond

The fiend ignores the range restriction on its telepathy when communicating with a creature it has charmed. The two don't even need to be on the same plane of existence.

Natural Aura

You have Proficiency in the Persuasion skill. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed.

Language

You can read, speak, and write Common, Abyssal and Infernal.

Draining Kiss

You kiss a creature charmed by you or a willing creature. The target must make a DC  15 constitution saving throw or take 2d10 necrotic damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by the number rolled and wont return until a long rest is taken. You gain hit points equal to the roll up to your max. The target dies if this reduces their hit points to 0.

Silver Tongue

You have proficiency with the persuasion skill and deception skill.

Claw

When in fiendish form, your natural claws deal 1d6+DEX slashing damage, instead of the normal unarmed strike.

Hellish Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

Wing of Hellspawn

Your max flying speed is 60 feet. This speed reduces to 30 feet when wearing medium armor, speed is reduced to 25 feet when wearing heavy armor. Additionally, your wings cannot be used unless your armor or clothing has been modified to account for them. Any armor or clothing you start with is already modified, and you may use 5g worth of tailor’s equipment to modify any normal clothing when resting in town. Armor must either be taken to a Smith for modification or modified using Smith’s Tools.

You have advantage on intimidation checks with your wings visible
