Homebrew Royalite Species Details

Royalites are fey-touched tricksters whose pale white skin looks as though it is carved in marble, or delicate and porcelain. This pale form is contrasted by the gleeming, multi colored, streaks of bright color that shine and sparkle from the rare gems embedded, in fashionable ways, throughout their bodies.

These fey paint their faces with make up and wear nobility like a costume. With slender, elongated limbs, and powder pale skin, they resemble decadent aristocrats, but their beauty is exaggerated into the realm of the uncanny. Their veins glimmer faintly with hints of silver or gold when caught in candlelight. Powder sifts from their pores like crushed pearls and their steps teeter like dancers on stage, as they always walk on the tips of their toes, their every gesture seems designed to parody grace itself.

Royalites are obsessed with wealth and status, but not always for personal gain. They are born with a greed, a kind of hunger. In fact, Royalites have such a deep appitite for precious gems and rare minerals that they are known to eat items of wealth; Gold and silver, exspensive pearls, and jewels, as a way to sustain themselves. Their teeth are often small chips of gem or ivory, flashing with sapphire or opal when they grin, and their eyes glimmer with a faint mineral luster. Some even shed crystalline tears, glittering shards of salt and quartz that sting like broken glass.

They were made to be a mockery and a mockery they shall be. Royalites infiltrate parties, courts, and guildhalls not only to bask in riches, but to twist them into theater, making fools of the powerful while smiling behind painted lips. Their laughter is as light as bells, but it carries a razor edge—wit wrapped in music. But there are some who have discovered that if they stay in the company of a Royalite, fortune soon follows. So there are people who will bare the insults and irony, in order to profit by proximity.

Though fragile of body, Royalites wield their wit, charm, and absurdity like weapons. They bow too deeply, flatter too sweetly, and dance until their audience doesn’t know whether to envy them or fear them. They are courtiers, clowns, and trickster-fey all at once. a living masquerade of beauty and ridicule.
