Homebrew Ankylofolk Species Details

Ankylofolk are introduced to fighting in small groups as a competitive team sport for the entertainment of other saurians. As Ankylofolk age, they take on roles in the city guard, in militaries, or as bodyguards and warriors. These combat roles well suit them, since they are the heaviest among saurian kind and possess both natural weapons and defense. Along their back the Ankylofolk have contiguous bone plates (osteoderms) that create a shell and their tail ends in a club formed from a dense nodule of the same bone plates.

Ankylofolk Traits

A humanoid evolved from ankylosaurus dinosaurs

Natural armor

Their tough hides give Ankylofolk a natural AC 17. They cannot wear normal armor. They receive normal bonuses to AC when using a shield. 

Powerful build

Due to their broad shoulders, barrel chests and thick legs, Ankylofolk count as large sized creatures when determining carrying capacity, etc.

Not so stealthy

Ankylofolk are NOT designed for sneaking around and suffer disadvantage on stealth checks
