Homebrew Chimera (Delicious in Dungeon) (v2) Species Details
Curse origins
The originals vary, depending on the humanoid being cursed and the curser, but one very common factor is that a dragon is always used to create a Chimera. The blood and meat is always used. Reasons for being cursed also vary, going from a range between a petty wizard cursing someone out of spite, or the cursor is tasking the Chimera with a task the cursor had given to the original dragon.
Unique variation's
Chimeras consist of three different species, the upper body in place of a head, the feathers of a bird, and the body of a dragon. The dragon derives from the species of dragon you were fused with. For example, being fused with a red dragon makes the scales red, while fusing with a copper dragon makes the scales a copper color.
The bird feathers is still a bit unknown, the reason seemingly depending on the hair color of the original cursed humanoid.
Transformation
Between your Chimera form and your humanoid form, stats are different, which heavily depends on the original species that had been cursed. Your natural armor class changes, in Chimera form it’s a 16 without armor but goes back to your original natural armor class. Walking speeds depends on whether your in Chimera form or not. In Chimera form, it’s a 50 but goes back to the original in your original form.
In your original form, you keep the bite force attack and the bird feather.
Chimera (Delicious in Dungeon) (v2) Traits
These are the traits of the infamous Chimera. A blessing and a curse.Ability score: strength
Your strength ability score goes up by +2.
Age
Chimera age generally depends on what and who was cursed. Whatever the species may be, a chimera ages normally unless other outside sources of magic intervene.
Language
Chimeras come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and other various factors. Language is another factor, in a Chimeras uniqueness.
To make my life easier, for now, I’m just going to make the base language common.
Chimera resistances
The chimera form is a blessing and a curse all at once, one of these blessings in the resistances. In your Chimera form, you have resistance towards force, fire, slashing, and piercing damage.
Out of Chimera form, you ONLY have resistance towards force and fire.
Claw, teeth, tail, and hide soup
When transforming into the Chimera form, your lower allows for more attacks, especially if you can’t reached with whatever ONE-HANDED weapon you are using.
NOTE: Chimera hide is at a 16 ONLY in chimera form, turning into a 13 when in a humanoid form again. Chimeras also keep the bite attack in their humanoid form.
Terrifying transformation
As you transform into your chimera form, everyone within 80 feet of you must succeed a wisdom save of 12, or they become terrified for one minute.
Feral curse
In combat, for each of your turns, you must role a wisdom save of 12 or more. In a failed save, you attack the nearest creature around you, whether friend or foe. This happens out of combat as well, whether it’s due to a clumsy mistake of your tail, or the beast in you lashing out randomly.
Out of combat the rules still apply but only every hour.
In order to shift back to normal form, you must succeed a wisdom save of 10, BUT for each turn your in the chimera form, that number stacks by 10.
You CAN NOT used two-handed weapons, two-handed items, or magical clothing/armor from below the torso.
