Homebrew Aquelid Species Details

Hatched in deep pools of the Underdark the Aquelid were blessed by an ancient god. Granted the ability to store memory within their pools the Aquelid developed a culture around storing and collecting the knowledge of their ancestors.

Aquelid look like anthropomorphic, bipedal bugs— slimy, dark-eyed, and frail often having antennae or other extremities on their head. Their coloration varies, though is often pale unless they are exposed to light frequently.

As an Aquelid, you have these special traits.

Mental Discipline

You have resistance to psychic damage.

Mind Link

You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see within 60 feet of you. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic messages, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language or be telepathic itself.

  • As a bonus action when you’re speaking telepathically to a creature, you can give that creature the ability to speak telepathically to you for the next hour. To use this ability, the creature must be within 60 feet of you and be able to see you. You can give this ability to only one creature at a time; giving it to a creature takes it away from another creature who has it.

Ancestral Knowledge

Gain proficiency in an additional skill or tool.

Water Walk

Walk on, instead of swimming through, water or other similar liquids.
