Homebrew Arachnifolk Species Details

Most Arachnifolk cannot communicate, and all of them are deaf. They eat big insects and they look like big spiders. Hungry Lizardfolk prey on the Arachnifolk, and female Arachnifolk try to eat the males after mating. Each of their egg sacs contain at least 2500 spiderlings, 100 of which will usually get eaten or not hatch right. The mother Arachnifolk will leave the spiderlings and go back to her burrow. Usually, a Arachnifolk’s burrow will look like a hole surrounded by strong, sticky, and nearly invisible webs. Arachnifolk are found almost everywhere. The females live the longest, for 400-500 years and the males live 100-200 years.

Jumpingfolk

Jumpingfolk are the smallest Arachnifolk, their size being between medium and small. They resemble jumping spiders. They are also more friendly and social than other Arachnifolk. They are the most likely to join adventuring parties. They don’t make webs as much and instead, they pounce on their prey. They have great eyesight.

Venomfolk

Venomfolk are highly venomous, as their name suggests. They are the cleverest Arachnifolk, and they can adapt quickly to any environment, including urban environments. Some of them have bites that can kill giants in 30 seconds and kill other races right away. Their venom works on each other too. The weakest Venomfolk can kill a medium-sized creature in one minute and have a cure that is hard to get, found in their burrows. Venomfolk resemble venomous spiders(other than tarantulas and jumping spiders).

Tarantulafolk

Tarantulafolk are the biggest Arachnifolk. They have terrible eyesight, despite having eight eyes. They resemble tarantulas, but much bigger. They can eat bigger prey than other Arachnifolk can, since Tarantulafolk are the bigger than other Arachnifolk.

Arachnifolk Traits

If you chose to be a Arachnifolk, you get these traits.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.
