Homebrew Corrupted Human - The Hungering Touched Species Details

 

The Hungering Dark does not simply grant power — it consumes.
Those who seek its favor too deeply, or survive its feeding, become something else. These Hungering Touched are humans whose souls have been half-devoured and reshaped by the abyssal hunger beneath the world.

They are neither fully mortal nor fully voidspawn. Their veins shimmer faintly like cracks in reality. When they breathe, the air cools; when they bleed, shadows crawl from the wound. They feel the pull of the Dark always — whispering promises of peace, knowledge, or annihilation.

Corrupted Human Traits

Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall) or Small (about 2–4 feet tall), chosen when you select this species
Speed: 30 feet

As a Corrupted Human, you have these special traits.

Resourceful

You gain Heroic Inspiration whenever you finish a Long Rest.

Skillful

You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice.

Versatile

You gain an Origin feat of your choice.

Feed the Dark

When you kill a creature, you may choose to consume its dying essence.
You regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
However, each time you do so, you must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw.

On a failure, you hear the Hungering Dark’s voice for the next hour — it may whisper, tempt, or command you (DM’s discretion).
