Homebrew Caprin Species Details

A hardy race of goat folk, there are two types of caprin—those of mountainous heritage and those of plain heritage. Those of mountainous descent are mostly nomadic, travelling the land and learning all they can of the world that way. Those of the plains are usually simple farmers, trying to live their humble lives by reaching the next harvest. All caprin have a deep love for oral storytelling and love bards in a way that many other races may miss. One with the ability to carry stories on from generation to generation is one, in the eyes of caprin, that writes history itself. As a result they encourage creativity and discourage the squashing of young hopefuls in the arts.

They tend to live near humans and halflings, getting along best with those folk. Many of these take to farming for a lifestyle.

Mountain Caprin

Far wilder than their field cousins, mountain caprin often roam in nomadic tribes and can be a little on the reclusive side. Old stories claim they fought to earn their freedom from the dwarves thousands of years ago but most dwarves will claim that this is a lie. Mountain caprin are proud of their traditions and heritage and while they’ll share what they know with others their people are afraid of losing who they are to strangers.
