Homebrew Capra Species Details
The Caprae are a particularly lazy species of humanoid goat, preferring to graze and lay in fields all day to going off on heart racing adventures. However, when a Capra does decide to set off, they often become legends, be it for good, or bad.
Caprae are flippant, the only authority they truly respect is their own, they rarely adventure, and when they do it’s usually to follow their own whims or for their own gain. Though not outright evil, unless it serves to benefit them, they’ll usually avoid helping others, deeming it to be “too much work”.
Though Caprae are lethargic and loafing, they do not lack strength, and they do enjoy showing their physical prowess. Their large, curling horns are perfect for ramming. Two Caprae will often engage in battle, crashing their horns into one another to establish dominance, this practice is called “Raamsmus” and can range in seriousness, mostly being used as sport or to display strength, though it can be dangerous and is sometimes a battle to the death.
Caprae also have a strong appetite, and their two stomachs and strong stomach acid allows them to consume and digest anything they like, even if it’s poisoned or non nutritious. It is said a single Capra can eat twice its body weight in a single hour. This means food can be a strong motivator for a Capra, or for anyone trying to convince one. Food is primarily digested in their second stomach, and some is saved in their first. If a Capra remains idle, the food in this first stomach will begin to digest.
A Capra can live up to 120 years old, reaching maturity at around 36, usually dying of natural causes after a long life of lounging around.
Caprae are large creatures, the smallest are around 6ft, and they’re usually picked on by the others, if it’s deemed to be worth their time. On average, a Capra is around 7 foot, and 300 pounds of muscle, despite their primarily idle lifestyle.
