Homebrew Aezir Species Details
A faction of elves, banished from their kingdom thousands of years ago, have created a home in the bones of Dragons gone. They appear stately, physically beautiful and command great hatred from their neighbors, the Wyrmkin. Having been renowned for their magical opulence and their physical brilliance, they have all but retreated to their homeland, where they show open hostility to any other race who wishes to learn the fate of the Dragons.
Having lived off of the flesh and blood of Dragons has come at a great cost. One of those costs is the fact that they live as a new race. They cannot consider themselves elves anymore, for the curse they have brought upon themselves hunting the great Dragons of the east has changed them into vampiric creatures. The Aezir live a dangerous half-life, and must consume not only blood, but also the blood of Dragons to survive and sustain their state as sentient beings. An Aezir who is starved of Dragon's blood is a terrible monster indeed.
They are regarded with fear and admiration, being the most elegant and dangerous race in the Shattered Lands of Aeboros. Not many Aezir are brave enough to flee from their homeland given their dependency on the Dragons in the east, but those who wish to flee from the tyrannical honor-bound system that living in the Empire brings are willing to risk their life and their sanity for freedom.
Aezir Traits
Your Aezir character has powerful abilities, the result of the constant Dragon's blood coursing through their veins.Ability Score Increase
You are physically gifted by the lifeblood you consume every day. Your Dexterity and Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Aezir Martial Training
All Aezir are trained from a young age in the art of war. Your Aezir gains proficiency with spears, longswords, light and medium armor.
Age
Although Aezir reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the blood they consume artificially extends their lifespan far longer than naturally possible. An Aezir begins their adulthood and their ascent in their given roles throughout the city at around the age of 15 and can live to be 400 years old. Without access to blood everyday, they can only live to be around 80 years old.
Alignment
Aezir are a part of a regimented culture, with castes and a full blown honor system. They lean strongly toward the law. Their exile from the other races and their many years of seclusion living literally and figuratively) off of the corpse of the Titanic Dragons has made them vicious and dangerous. Aezir are more often evil than not, though there are a few exceptions.
Size
Aezir range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall and have strong, well toned builds. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Thirst for Blood
The Aezir unfortunately are dependent on the Dragon that sustains them. If they go at least one day without drinking blood, they suffer disadvantage on all saving throws until they drink blood again. Additionally, these Blood Elves require the blood of a Dragon from their capital, Solaerios, at least once a year. If they go without this, they suffer one level of exhaustion until they drink it. If they go too long without this Dragon's blood, terrible things happen to the Aezir.
Lordly Command
Aezir are stately and honorable, and hold an unnatural degree of leadership against those they consider "inferiors."
Once a day, you may cast Command at no cost. The spell save dc is 8 + Proficiency Bonus + your Con modifier.
