Homebrew Birdfolk (2024 Rules) Species Details

This species is intended for use with the 2024 5th Edition rules, where Backgrounds grant Ability Score Increases.

Birdfolk are the original residents of BirdHaven before the Aeros moved in. Known as the traders and known as the workers and cogworks of the system, they hold the history and wisdom below their wings. Known not for their fighting as they are a peaceful kind. They come in many shapes and many colours, arrays of subspecies of their own, yet sharing the same tree.

Size: Medium or Small, chosen when you select this species
Speed: 30 feet

As a birdfolk, you have the following special traits.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 30 feet. To use this speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.

Sagacious Feathers

You have proficiency in the History and Persuasion skills and one tool proficiency of your choice.

Talons

Your talons are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
