Homebrew Daywalker Species Details
Daywalkers are part Vampire and part other race. You have been affected at some point in time, by Vampires or their influence. For some reason or another you did not inherit the full disease of Vampirism but you only inherited a small taste of the powers it entails. You are not even close to the level of power that Vampires such as Count Strahd von Zarovich but you are stronger than the average person. Daywalkers, as the name hints, can walk during the day and do not inherit the weaknesses of forbiddance, harmed by running water, the stake to the heart (because that would most likely kill you) or the sunlight hypersensitivity of a Vampire.
Daywalker Traits
As a victim of Vampires you've inherited some of their abilities, as well as their hunger for the blood of others.Ability Score Increase
You gain a +2 to Constitution and a +1 to Dexterity.
Age
Your maturity age remains normal (as a Human you'd mature in your late teens) but every 10 Human years you physically age 1 year.
Alignment
Daywalkers have no set alignment but more than naught a Daywalker will become corrupted by the powers they've been given.
Darkvision
You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60ft of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light but you cannot discern color in darkness, only in shades of grey.
Vampiric Resistance
You are resistant to necrotic damage as well as poison damage. You also are immune to disease including Lycanthropy.
Hunger for Blood
Your curse is not all positives as you must feed on the blood of others to sustain yourself. You must drink blood at least once per day or else you will begin to experience exhaustion the next day, the exhaustion of not drinking blood will increase each day you do not feed yourself on the blood of a creature. The amount of blood must be equal to your size meaning you cannot only drink from one rat and expect yourself to be full. Your 'Feast' feature does not count as fulfilling yourself for the day as you do not fully drink the target.
Feast
Once per short rest you can make an attack with your fangs that allows you to regain the amount of health equal to the damage you've done to the enemy plus your constitution modifier.(As an example your fangs do 1d6 plus your strength modifier meaning if you do 6 damage plus a 2 strength modifier you can add your, lets say, +3 con modifier to regain 11 health). If you are using this feature against a corpse you instantly regain 6 + your constitution modifier worth of health. Your Feast feature is not the same as your Fangs meaning if you've already used your Feast feature and have yet to take a short rest then attack an enemy with your Fangs you will not gain health from the attack.
Fangs
As a Daywalker you inherit a Vampires natural weapon, that being a set of Fangs. With an attack action you can attack an enemy with your fangs which will do 1d6 plus your strength modifier worth of piercing damage.
