Homebrew Burrowling Species Details

Small tunnelers that navigate earth like water.

Burrowling Traits

Small tunnelers that navigate earth like water.

Burrow Movement

You have a burrow speed of 30 feet. You can burrow through nonmagical, unworked earth, loose soil, sand, clay, or mud. You can’t burrow through stone, wood, or metal.
When you burrow, you may leave a narrow tunnel large enough for Small creatures. At the end of your turn, the tunnel collapses unless supported (DM decides when terrain stays open). Burrowing does not grant you air—use common sense for ventilation.

Earth Sense

While burrowing, you have blindsight 10 feet against creatures in contact with the same ground as you (doesn’t function on stone or worked floors). This doesn’t help against flying or hovering creatures.

Compact Claws

Your digging claws count as natural tools. You ignore nonmagical difficult terrain made of loose earth, sand, or mud. Your unarmed strikes deal 1d4 slashing (you’re not considered proficient unless you gain Unarmed proficiency from class/feat).
