Homebrew Balorian Species Details

Overview

Balorians are towering, infernal beings descended from the most fearsome of demons — the Balors. Unlike typical tieflings who carry the diluted essence of devils or lesser fiends, Balorians are born of raw, abyssal fury and elemental fire. Their very presence radiates both majesty and terror, their eyes glowing with smoldering embers and their flesh marked by runes of molten red, black, or obsidian tones.

Though often shunned by mortal society for their demonic heritage, Balorians carry an intense sense of purpose. Some embrace their chaotic ancestry, while others strive to channel their might toward redemption — becoming living proof that even those born of flame and darkness can shape their own fate.

Physical Description

Balorians are large and muscular, standing between 9 to 10 feet tall and weighing between 700 and 900 pounds. Their forms blend humanoid and fiendish traits: leathery skin streaked with fiery veins, horns that curl or spike upward like molten stone, and faintly glowing eyes that smolder with infernal light. Many sport vestigial wings — too small for full flight, but capable of granting them a limited lift or controlled descent.

Their voices rumble like distant thunder, and the air around them often feels unnaturally warm. When angered or emotionally charged, wisps of smoke or embers drift from their bodies.

Balorian Personality

Balorians are beings of deep conviction — whether in wrath, loyalty, or vengeance. Their tempers are legendary, but so too is their passion. A Balorian might destroy an enemy’s fortress in a fit of rage one day, then risk their life to save a companion the next. They are often seen as larger-than-life figures: heroes, tyrants, or monsters — depending on who tells the story.

Balorian Adventurers

Balorians often become barbarians, fighters, warlocks, or paladins. Those who follow the path of light may serve celestial causes, while others become walking cataclysms of fire and fury, wielding the infernal power of their bloodline as both weapon and curse.

Balorian Traits

massive physique, red skin wreathed in flames, leathery wings, and demonic features like horns and claws. They would be driven by an insatiable urge for destruction and a passionate, albeit malevolent, nature, and would likely wield powerful magical weapons like a flaming whip and a sword of lightning.
