Homebrew Celt Species Details

The Celts—encompassing the fierce clans of Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Brittany—are a proud, tribal people bound by ancient tongues, warrior traditions, and a deep connection to mist-shrouded hills, sacred groves, and storm-lashed coasts. They are raiders and poets, druids and berserkers, whose war-cries echo across battlefields and whose songs preserve magic older than stone circles. In a world of monsters and empires, the Celts fight with primal fury, their bodies painted in woad, their hearts fueled by an unquenchable spirit that refuses to bow.

History and Culture
The Celts are an ancient people whose clans and tribes have weathered the rise and fall of empires. Their history is sung in epic poems of heroes like Cú Chulainn and kings like Arthur. They are a people of deep contrasts: fierce warriors who compose intricate verse, practical farmers who revere the spirit world, and independent clans who share a common bond. Their druids are the keepers of lore and magic, mediating with the gods and the spirits of the land. The Celts have resisted foreign rule for centuries, their hit-and-run tactics and knowledge of the wilds making their homelands a graveyard for invaders. In a world of magic, their connection to the old ways is literal; standing stones hum with energy, fey creatures emerge from the mists, and the veil between the mortal world and the Otherworld is thin.

Roleplaying a Celtic Character

You are likely driven by a deep loyalty to your chieftain and clan, a personal code of honor, and a fierce love for your wild homeland. You may distrust centralized authority, preferring the freedom of the hills. You value courage, generosity, and skill in battle and poetry alike, but your fiery temper and stubborn pride can lead you into feuds or foolhardy charges.
