Homebrew Tieflingling Species Details

Small and Practical

Tieflinglings are beings with one halfling parent and one tiefling parent. For the most part, they still look halfling, but their infernal heritage is obvious as well. They stand anywhere from 3 to 5 feet tall, depending on their inheritance. They are also inclined to be stout, ranging from 70 to 180 pounds. They have horns that can be any variety of shapes: some ram-like, some antelope-like, others all sorts of different shapes. They have thick tails, ranging from two to three feet long, and sharp canines. Their skin ranges from a darker brown to a pale tone, typically including various shades of red. Their hair can be brown, sandy brown, black, dark red, blue, or even purple. They typically have either brown or hazel eyes, or solid colors—black, red, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil.

Self-Reliant and Curious

Tieflinglings subsist in small minorities found mostly in human or halfling cities or towns. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect. They cherish the bonds of family and friendship as well as the comforts of hearth and home, harboring few dreams of gold or glory. Even adventurers among them usually venture into the world for reasons of community, friendship, wanderlust, or curiosity. They love discovering new things, even simple things, such as exotic food or an unfamiliar style of clothing.

Languages

They write very little, so they don’t have a rich body of literature. Their oral tradition, however, is very strong. Almost all halflings speak Common to converse with the people in whose lands they dwell or through which they are traveling.
