Homebrew Zoroark Species Details
appearance
Zoroark are bipedal, slate gray, fox-like Pokémon with crimson and black accents. They have pointed snouts and ears with red insides. They also have some red that rims their eyes and mouth. Zoroark have a large, red, voluminous mane with black tips, typically tied into a ponytail using a hand-carved bead of jade. They have a black ruff on their upper body, pointed at the shoulders from which the arms extend. the upper arms are usually thin, whereas the forearms, while still slim, are bulkier. The arms have spiky extensions of fur at the elbows, and they have red claws on the hands and feet. Zoroarks' eyes are red-rimmed and commonly with light blue irises.
Masters of illusion.
Zoroark can create illusions that are indistinguishable from reality, deluding many people simultaneously. They can even create illusory landscapes in the forests where they dwell, to hide their territory and protect their dens. However, Zoroark are incapable of physically changing itself into another form; they are merely capable of casting illusions. When a Zoroark takes the form of a human, it is capable of human speech. It can make convincing illusions of attacks, and these illusions are extremely realistic, enough to fool even cameras and make one believe they're being physically affected, though the illusion does not have any direct physical effect.
There are stories of Zoroark punishing people who tried to capture them with illusions.
social structure
Zoroark live in large tribal groups referred to as "clans", usually consisting of a typical tribal structure of one to three chieftains governing a casteless system where every role is equally important from hunting to guarding territory to caring for young. A female Zoroark will hide its Zorua young in its mane to protect them and carry them around.
the vast majority of their primitive technology is learnt through using their illusions to hide amongst/observe the more developed races.
sometimes, a Zoroark may become variably independent from their birth tribe to live in urban areas.
