Homebrew Bunnyborn Species Details

Bunnyborn are rare hybrids born from the unlikely union of draconic ancestry and rabbitfolk lineage. Their bodies mix soft fur with patches of hardened scale, their ears twitch with restless alertness, and their breath hints at elemental energy. Despite their small frame, they possess an impressive combination of speed, resilience, and magical power.

Bunnyborn culture varies wildly, as most are born into other societies rather than forming communities of their own. Some grow into quick-witted tricksters, some into fierce elemental warriors, and others into stealthy scouts whose draconic strength only shows when needed.

No matter their personality, all Bunnyborn share the same unique blend of instinct and ancestry: boundless motion and deep draconic pride.

Breath Weapon

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in either a 15-foot Cone or a 30-foot Line that is 5 feet wide (choose the shape each time). Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 plus your Constitution modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, a creature takes 1d10 damage of the type determined by your Draconic Ancestry trait. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach character levels 5 (2d10), 11 (3d10), and 17 (4d10).

You can use this Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Hare hop

As a bonus action, you can jump a number of feet equal to 5 × your proficiency bonus. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Keen hearing

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.

Draconic resilience

While you are not wearing heavy armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.

Burrow instincts

You have a burrow speed of 5 feet, but only through loosened earth, sand, soft soil, or snow. This does not allow you to tunnel through stone or solid ground.
