Homebrew Xueshen Species Details
Xueshen are large serpentine creatures in their truest form in water. When in their human form, they retain the ability of hydrokinesis to protect themselves when away from large bodies of water. In addition, they are highly territorial towards their family members and large bodies of water, being at their peak when swimming. When far from sources of water, their powers weaken.
Xueshen Traits

Xueshens, as aquatic creatures at their core, can see underwater and in dark areas—80 ft darkvision.
Amphibious
Xueshens, as aquatic creatures, can breathe underwater, allowing for near-unparalleled capabilities in their natural habitat. When in either humanoid or true form, Xueshens can breathe air or water.
Hydrokinetic Abilities
Xueshen can manipulate the form of water at will. This includes shifting water vapor from the air into its liquid form and to its solid form, ice.
Swift Swim
swim speed increases by 20 ft if under or in water.
Underwater Transformation
When in a struggle, Xueshens can retreat into the water for their true form and power, transforming into a gargantuan serpentine beast that has more raw power than their humanoid appearances.
Roll a dexterity and constitution check to confirm whether you fully transform or fail. DC 18 and DC 15.
