Homebrew Butterfolk Species Details

It is unknown where butterfolk arose from, but they certainly exist. They resemble slender butterfly-like humanoids, with a certain insectile quality about their limbs and wings wrapped around them like a cloak. Their wings can be any colour, and can be unfolded to fly.

Butterfolk Traits

Butterfolks' butterfly-like builds offer several skills, which are detailed below.

Flying

Your wings grant you a flying speed of 30 feet. This flying speed fails to function if you are doused in water. If you are in midair when you are doused in this way, you descend at a rate of 60 feet and take no damage.

Scale Dust

You can take an action to spray scale dust around you. Each creature within 5 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 1d6 radiant damage on a failure. This damage rises as your level rises. At level 5, the damage becomes 2d6. At level 11, the damage becomes 3d6. At level 17, the damage becomes 4d6.

Languages

You can speak Common and Sylvan.
