Homebrew Aurorian Species Details

An humanoid being which during the day has light purpled colored skin, which reminds one of the twilight sky. At night, however, if they are within reasonable distance from the poles, during a solar weather event, or near a powerful source of electricity their veins glow with the beautiful colors of the aurora. These colors give a charming effect, and stories tell of an inability to look away from their eyes, which are said to swirl with colors unseen in anything else in the world. These people have very thin faces, and look many years older than they are, but not in an unattractive way. They are usually around 6ft tall, but some small tribes of these people reach up to 8ft in height. Tribes which are closer to more powerful regions of aurora are found to have larger builds and more powerful magic, and tribes farther away, the opposite effects. These beings are almost always well versed in their own families lineage and history, and take pride in their tribe. The power of the aurora gives them great wisdom and magic as well, and when imbued with its power they enter an avatar-like state, reaching deep into their family tree for the forgotten wisdom of their ancestors. Aurorians are naturally peaceful peoples, and due to the lack of resources in their regions they try to avoid conflict and work with neighboring tribes as much as possible. Many act as traders and merchants in these sub-zero regions, selling goods and food to travelers making their way through the harsh terrain.

The aurora unlocks a certain state for the Aurorian people, and one of the effects is access to the wisdom of all of the beings elders who came before them. The aurora opens pathways within an Aurorians brain that allows it to access these, and in some circumstances even communicate with its ancestors through the magic and connection they have built with the aurora.

The eyes and colorful skin during the aurora of an Aurorian is magically charming to anyone who looks or even sees it out of the corner of their eyes.
