Homebrew Beholder Kin Species Details

Beholder Kin's are beholders who have used their immense powers for good, they have all the same properties of beholders just slightly smaller in size. 

Beholder Kins, like Beholders hover instead of walking. Beholder Kins are able to hover up to 10ft before being pulled back to the ground.

Each eye stalk has a different effect and as the Beholder Kin levels up you unlock new ones, you unlock them in this order:

  1. Charm Ray
  2. Paralizing Ray
  3. Fear Ray
  4. Slowing Ray
  5. Envertation Ray
  6. Telekinetic Ray
  7. Sleep Ray
  8. Petrification Ray
  9. Disintigration Ray
  10. Death Ray

The central eye of the beholder kin has the same effect as the original, a anti-magic cone which stops magic, this is unlocked at level 5.

A Beholder which uses its powers for good.

Heavy Husk

Due to your large size you are unable to swim, instead you will sink to the bottom of the water.

False Hands

You have a weak telekinetic ability which allows you to hold tools and weapons as if you had hands.

Unusual Body

Due to your unusual body, you are unable to wear armor made of a non-bendable material.

Charm Ray

Charms the target for 1 hour.

Paralyzing Ray

Paralyzes the target for 1 minute.

Fear Ray

Causes the target to be frightend for 1 minute.

Slowing Ray

Halves the targets speed for 1 minute.

Enervation Ray

Inflicts necrotic 3 damage, if you roll 8 or above (d20).

Telekinetic Ray

Move a creature or object with telekinesis, if d20 rolls higher than 16.

Sleep ray

Puts a target in deep sleep for 1 minute.

Petrification Ray

Petrifies the target if save fails.

Death Ray

Will instantly kill an opponent if save failed, and rolled higher than 18.
