Homebrew Cormanthyian Elf Species Details

In progressive Myth Drannor, "half" does not mean lesser. So much so, that it is no longer a necessary identifier at all for any in Cormanthyr, unless they choose to claim it. Half-elves living in Cormanthyr are embraced and celebrated, enabled to fully know themselves and their lineage within their given family's customs and traditions.

In this environment, half-elves have been granted the magic of their heritage and the skills of their kin, fostered and developed to continue to rebuild Myth Drannor and further its dream.

“As I would think, so shall ye;
As I would feel, so shall ye;
As I would do, so shall ye;
As I would not harm, nor shall ye;
As I would, so shall the clan;
As the clan would, so shall I;
As we would, so shall ye.
The People are as one, and
never shall I stray from this, nor shall ye,
for to digress is to diminish you and your People.

Welcome in Two Worlds

To humans, Cormanthyians look like elves, and to elves, they look human. In height, they’re on par with both parents, though they’re neither as slender as elves nor as broad as humans. They range from under 5 feet to about 6 feet tall, and from 100 to 180 pounds, with men only slightly taller and heavier than women. Half-elf men do have facial hair, and sometimes grow beards to mask their elven ancestry. Half-elven coloration and features lie somewhere between their human and elf parents, and thus show a variety even more pronounced than that found among either race. They tend to have the eyes of their elven parents.

EXCELLENT AMBASSADORS

Cormanthyian elves learn at an early age to get along with everyone, defusing hostility and finding common ground. As a race, they have elven grace without elven aloofness and human energy without human boorishness. They often make excellent ambassadors and go-betweens (except between intolerant elves and humans, who Cormanthyians perceive as odd, ignorant, or even inferior due to their outdated views).

Your Cormanthyian character has several qualities in common with elves and some that are unique to their human descendency.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1.

Age

Cormanthyian elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. Endowed with Fey Lineage they live beyond 180 years, though historians as of yet are unable to record the typical range of their lifespan still believed to be mortal.

Darkvision

You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

Elven Lineage

You are part of a lineage that grants you supernatural abilities. Choose a lineage from the Elven Lineages table. You gain the level 1 benefit of that lineage.

When you reach character levels 3 and 5, you learn a higher-level spell, as shown on the table. You always have that spell prepared. You can cast it once without a spell slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast with this trait (choose the ability when you select the lineage).
