Homebrew Warforged - Descendant of Rhuum'baarr Species Details

The Rhuum'baarr were traditional domestic protectors built by House Cannith using the forms of mindless ones whose improvements failed to meet expectations.

Like their warforged kin, the Rhuum'baarr too developed sentience and emotions by combining organic and mechanical parts, but with it came new perspectives of their enslavement. Descendants of Rhuum'bar are constructed entirely from metal and are of tiny size, short in stature and largely cylindrical by form, perceiving the world through their surmounted fisheye. Free of their historic servitude, the Rhuum'baarr now find meaning fulfilling their ancestral role of protection or defying their bloodline's instincts.

Warforged - Descendant of Rhuum'baarr Traits

As a Descendant of Rhuum'baarr, you have the following traits:

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 2.

Age

A typical warforged is between two and thirty years old. The maximum lifespan of the warforged remains a mystery; so far, warforged have shown no signs of deterioration due to age. You are immune to magical aging effects.

Alignment

Descendants of Rhuum'baarr often follow the path of their ancestry, favouring good and neutrality. But, some Descendants of Rhuum'baarr grow sick of the chains holding them to others, and instead choose chaos.

Size

  • Your size is Tiny. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier.
    • Size modifier = 1d4
    • Height = 1 foot + 7 inches + your size modifier in inches
    • Weight in pounds = 100 + (4 x your size modifier)

Speed

Your base walking speed is 9.84252 25 feet. You may choose instead to burrow 15 feet through the ground, or instead use your inbuilt vacuum chamber to propel yourself, hovering 15ft on a jet of air. Your base walking speed is reduced to zero through difficult terrain, but you may choose to hover or burrow instead.

Cleaning Compulsion

When you traverse a space which does not contain open flooring, you must alter the space below you using your cleaning instruments to purify the terrain. For example, a soiled flagstone becomes polished, and reeds of long-grass become a mowed lawn.

Precipice Blindness

As the Descendants of Rhuum'baarr possess one fisheye atop their casing, you are unable to determine the vertical height of a drop adjacent to you, such as a flight of stairs.

Mounted Ordinance

Descendants of Rhuum'baarr may only fight with one weapon at a time.

Power Spin

As an action, you may choose to mop a 5-foot tile beneath you. While on this tile, you have advantage on dexterity checks and dexterity saving throws until the tile is soiled. If a creature occupies this space for one round's duration, the tile becomes soiled.

Miniscule Retreat

Attacks of opportunity made against you are rolled at disadvantage.

Constructed Resilience

You were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
  • You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You are immune to disease.
  • You don't need to sleep, and magic can't put you to sleep.

Sentry's Rest

When you take a long rest, you must spend at least four hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Integrated Protection

Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor.

  • You gain a +2 bonus to Armor Class.
  • You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you must remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way.
  • While you live, your armor can't be removed from your body against your will.

Specialised Design

You gain one skill proficiency and one tool proficiency of your choice.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
