Homebrew Xorns Species Details
Metallic diets
Xorns have an amazing sense of smell when it comes to there food. Their diet however is unusual when compared to other creatures as they only eat metals and ores, some even craving the rare enchanted types. Xorns however Benefit well from this diet as most of their body is made from rock or earth alloy. Xorns can sense the presence of metal through the ground and often are willing to trade their wares or information to adventures for coins or equipment to eat, which they have located with there extraordinary affinity to metal.
Terra biology
Xorns have bizarre bodies with 3 arms and legs symmetrically positioned at 120 degrees round their bodies, an eye between each arm and finally a toothed maw that sits atop its body facing up. Their voice box has also adapted to allow Xorns to speak in languages such as common while still letting them use their earthen language of Terran.
Xorn Civilisation
Xorns are intelligent creatures but are usually found in small clans that gather and eat metals and minerals together. They are however a largely peaceful race that only attack to defend themselves or if their environment isn’t providing the right food and instead look for it on people.
Xorns Traits
As a xorn you get the following traits and also ones granted by your sub race.Darkvision
Due to your time spent underground, you have darkvision out to 60ft.
Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Stone hide
As a xorn armor won't fit you unless seriously customized. You have an unarmored AC of 15 while not wearing armor. You may still wield a shield and get the regular benefits.
Metallic Diet
Instead of eating organic food you instead require metal. Normal scavenging doesn’t sustain you, but you can burrow for 1 hour per day to find enough food for yourself if there is sufficient rocks and minerals around. In places like cities where burrowing is tough and there’s a lack of minerals you can instead spend 5 silver to sustain yourself per day. You can of course buy rations or eat items you find along your adventure, but they must have the same monetary value.
Three Arms
Xorns have 3 arms to use in combat as apposition to most creatures 2. Therefore you can hold up to 3 weapons and shields. You still only get the advantage from one shield, but this does allow you to wield a two handed weapon and a shield or up to 3 one handed weapons. You can still only use two weapon fighting as per the normal rules.
Maw Store
You can store up to 10 lb of equipment inside of your mouth. Whilst inside it is hidden and has full cover as long as you don’t talk.
Languages
You can speak, read and write Common and Terran.
Alignment
Xorns main goal is finding metal, you don’t often find xorns whom wish death upon others or who are willing to risk their lives for the greater good. For this reason xorns are usually neutral.
Subraces.
There are 2 xorn subraces choose either; Earthen or Metallic.
