The Shryx are a diminutive and highly intelligent species, standing no taller than a toddler, with lithe, fragile frames that hold their sharp minds. Their skin is a mottled, leathery yellow or pale hue, often covered in scars or markings that signify their achievements and status within their communities. Their eyes are sharp and predatory, despite their laughable appearance, constantly darting around as they analyse their surroundings.
Despite their physical vulnerability, the Shryx are feared for their mastery of technology and engineering. They wear complex mech suits - ingenious constructs of metal and biological circuitry - that serve as both armor and extension of their own bodies. These mechs are crafted with meticulous care, reflecting their creators' inventive spirit and resourcefulness. To the outside world, the Shryx appear delicate, but within their suits, they become swift and precise operators, capable of defending themselves and executing intricate plans.
Shryx society centres around innovation, craftsmanship, and strategic thinking. They are often seen tinkering in workshops or exploring ruins to scavenge parts for their next creation. shryx are highly intelligent creatures that learn and adapt quickly. you gain +3 to INT. however, due to your small size and frail body, you gain -1 to STR and CON when not in heavy armour.

Shryx are skilled in tinkering and crafting. They have proficiency with smith's tools or tinkerer's tools. They can also repair their mechs quickly on the battlefield, but this leaves them vulnerable.
Mechanical prowess
Your expertise with machinery grants you exceptional mobility within your mech. When operating heavy armor or mech suits, you gain a +10 bonus to your walking speed, allowing you to move swiftly and strategically in combat. you also grow to the medium size, because of the armour.
Mech upgrades
Shryx rely heavily on their mechs for combat and defence, so they upgrade them while resting. during a long rest, a Shryx can upgrade it's armour with one of these upgrades. the upgrade lasts until the next long rest. These are the upgrades:
1. Enhanced Vision
Your mech is fitted with advanced optics, granting you Darkvision out to 60ft.
2. Clawed Appendages
Your mech gains a pair of retractable claws, allowing you to make unarmed melee attacks that deal 1d6 + PB slashing damage.
3. Reinforced Armor Plating
You strengthen your mech’s defences, increasing its AC by 2.
4. Sensory Boost
Your mech’s sensors are enhanced, granting you 10ft of blindsight.
5. Jet Boosters
Your mech is equipped with small thrusters, allowing you to take the dash action as a bonus action.
6. Utility Toolset
Your mech is fitted with a versatile toolkit, giving you proficiency in tinker’s tools if you don’t already have it, and one free cast of the spell mending.
7. Stealth Module
A lightweight silencing system is installed, granting advantage on Stealth checks when moving at a normal or slower pace.
