Homebrew Clockwork Species Details
The Clockwork-Bound are not born; they are made. In the dying days of the previous age, many sought to extend their lives by replacing failing organs with arcanotech gears and pistons. Over generations, this became a symbiotic lineage. They appear human, but patches of their skin are replaced by brass, copper, or glass, revealing ticking mechanisms underneath. They require constant maintenance to keep their souls tethered to their mechanical parts.
Clockwork Traits
TRAITS:Constructed Resiliance
You have Advantage on saving throws against being Poisoned, and you have Resistance to Poison damage. You do not need to eat or drink, though you must still breathe.
Overclock
When you make an Attack roll, an Ability Check, or a Saving Throw, you can use your Reaction to spin your internal gears to the limit. Roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the total. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Maintenance Required
You do not regain Hit Points naturally during a Long Rest unless you spend at least 1 hour of that rest performing maintenance on your body using Tinker’s Tools (which you are proficient with). If you do not perform this maintenance, you regain only half your Hit Dice and no Hit Points.
