Homebrew Deepkin Species Details
Born in the crushing silence of the deepest caverns, the Deepkin are a people shrouded in darkness. Legends say they were shaped by the earth itself, infused with the echoes of ancient titans that slumber beneath the stone. They do not see as surface folk do—instead, they perceive the world through vibrations, subtle sounds, and the rhythm of life itself.
To outsiders, Deepkin are unsettling: towering figures with pale, stone-like skin etched with faint bioluminescent lines that pulse with their heartbeat. Their eyeless faces and heavy, deliberate movements make them appear more beast than mortal, yet beneath the fearsome exterior lies a people of profound patience and wisdom.
Deepkin society revolves around listening. Songs of stone and echoes of history are passed down through vibration drums and resonant chants. They act as wardens of the deep places, guarding forgotten ruins, buried secrets, and primordial rifts that should never see daylight. Though feared by many, Deepkin often see themselves as protectors—watchers in the dark who bear the burden of silence so that others may live in light.
