Homebrew Wasset Species Details

Cute & Deadly

A wassets exasperated expressions and movements are obvious at first glance. Their twitchy demeanor shows an expressiveness and determination to constantly be moving and noticing the world around it. Wassets average a little over 3 feet tall and weight around 50 to 60 pounds. Wassets are known for their thick white fur when in cold climates, green in tropical and forested areas and even tan fur in the harsh desert lands with long thin bodies. They have small claws they use to help burrow through snow, tall grasses and sand and to tear into flesh. They have eyes in a range of yellow, blue, green, black and even pale pink in some rare instances. Some wassets have even been known to change fur color if they are in a new environment for even a short amount of time.

The differences between male and female wassets are hard to pin down. The most obvious is size, males tend to be larger but not by much and females tend to have longer fur. Some wassets let certain sections of fur grow long and braid them into quite exquisite designs.

Packs of Gems

Wassets strive to survive in any climate they call home. They tend to travel in packs of ten or more and sometimes can be found alone. A lone wasset is usually feared for it was usually driven from its pack for various reasons. A lone wasset will kill and eat anything it can find to survive.

They love a good story or joke and are fairly easily entertained by most races. They love to collect and trade in shiny bobbles and sometimes even steal them if they get exceptionally enthralled with an object someone denies them.

Adaptive Homes

Wassets can sleep out in most environments that they enhabit.  They seem to show great resistance to conditions when accustomed to them. They burrow mostly to travel and can even make great tunnel systems in the ground.  These tunnel systems tend to look like very large ant hills and function in a similar fashion. Everyone works to help maintain it until the region they are in has run out of resources. They then collapse the entrance and move onto a new area. Some people have found old abandoned wasset tunnels by accident and fallen many feet to their untimely demise.
