Homebrew Zariga Species Details
Zariga- commonly known by others as ‘opossumfolk’- are a small, but surprisingly hardy people. Often uncomplicated and forgiving in character, zariga love to share most-everything with their relatives and neighbors. They are commonly regarded by others as strikingly carefree, for better or worse.
As a zariga, you gain the following traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution and Wisdom scores and one other ability score of your choice each increase by 1.
Size
Your size is small.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Crafty Claws
By your agile fingers and helpful tail, you have a climbing speed of 20 feet. Additionally, you are naturally adept at craftwork and gain proficiency in an artisan’s tool or instrument of your choice.
Durable Didelphid
You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage.
Tail Talent
You have a strong, rough tail that you can use for an extra grip. While your tail lacks the dexterity of your other limbs, you may use it to carry items or suspend yourself from objects while keeping your hands free.
Pseudomortis
You are proficient in performance, and have advantage on Charisma (performance) checks made to feign being dead or unconscious.
As an action on your turn- or as a reaction to becoming frightened or taking damage- you may voluntarily feign death, gaining the prone and paralyzed conditions and seemingly becoming deceased by most senses. When you do so, make a Charisma (performance) check, contested by the passive Wisdom (insight) of any observers. Creatures who fail this check or otherwise didn’t witness you feigning death become convinced that you have died, and must use their action to make an appropriate check (typically Wisdom (Insight, Medicine, or Perception)) contested by your performance check to determine otherwise. While paralyzed in this way, you can use an action on your turn to end that condition on yourself, at which point it becomes obvious to any observers that you were feigning death. Once a creature realizes that you were feigning death, it becomes immune to this effect for a day.
Starting at 5th level, you become immune to magical effects that would sense life while feigning death, such as the Detect Thoughts spell- though you may still be targeted as a living creature.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
