“From the sun’s first roar, we rose.”

— Auryxan Sun-Seer Myth

The Auryxan trace their beginnings to the Dawnwild Era, when the boundaries between Aetheris and the primal spirit realms were thin, and great beasts walked as avatars of the gods.
According to their sacred stories, the first Auryxan were born from the union of:

  • Aeloria, goddess of sun, justice, and rightful rulership
  • Khorvath the Golden Mane, a colossal celestial lion-spirit who guarded the first savanna at the world’s forming

Their creation myth tells that when Aeloria sought to bring order to the untamed dawn, she cast her light across the wild plains.
Where her radiance fell upon Khorvath’s mane, sparks of sunfire leapt away, forming the first Auryxan as bipedal children of sun, pride, and purpose.

These firstborn were tasked with:

  • guarding sacred territories,
  • defending the weak against tyrants and predators,
  • maintaining the cycle of the hunt without cruelty or excess,
  • embodying the virtues of discipline, honor, and strength.

Thus the Auryxan became known as:

  • Children of the Sun
  • The Golden Pride
  • Aeloria’s Righteous Hunt
  • The Pridebound

Unlike other Felis, whose origins tie to shadow, jungle, frost, sand, or storm, the Auryxan’s myth is one of radiance, valor, and divinely sanctioned guardianship.

Auryxan Mythic Archetypes

  1. The Roaring Dawn

The moment Aeloria breathed life into them—
still celebrated each morning as sacred.

  1. The First Pride

Led by Aru’Kesh the Dawn-Speaker, who shaped the earliest laws of honor, lineage, and leadership.

  1. The Hunt of the Broken Sun

A great legend where the Auryxan hunted a tyrant spirit-lion corrupted by void magic—
a foundational tale teaching the difference between dominance and stewardship.

  1. The Pact of Golden Shadows

A myth describing the balance of sun and darkness.
It emphasizes that even those born of radiance must respect night’s needs: rest, reflection, humility.

Philosophic Foundation: The Sun’s Four Tenets

The Auryxan believe all life cycles follow the Path of the Sun:

  1. Rising Purpose — Wake each day with intention.
  2. High Vigilance — Stand firm against threats and injustice.
  3. Setting Mercy — Show compassion in twilight moments.
  4. Midnight Reflection — Only in darkness can tomorrow’s courage grow.

These tenets define their cultural focus on leadership, discipline, protection, and measured strength.

Auryxan and the Great Felis Lineage

Within the broader Felis family, the Auryxan represent:

  • Leadership
  • Nobility
  • Order
  • Strength tempered by responsibility
  • The savanna’s ruling apex predator

They view the Ocerai (jaguarfolk) as shadowed equals, the Varrathi (leopard-folk) as beloved cousins, the Nysari (sandcatfolk) as desert wisdom-keepers, and the Lryvask (lynxfold) as cool-minded hunters of the frost.

Among Felis peoples, the Auryxan are regarded as:

  • mediators,
  • elders,
  • born tacticians,
  • defenders of balance,
  • and judges in times of conflict.

The Auryxan Charge

Their creation myth ends with a command:

“Stand as the sun stands — to guide, to warm, to watch, to burn when needed.”

This edict shapes every Auryxan pride-clan, every rite, every tradition.

It is their origin, their mythos, and their unbroken calling.
