Homebrew Abyssal Anchorite Species Details

Born from the crushing depths of the Elemental Plane of Earth and the void of the Abyss, Anchorites are the absolute negation of light and motion. They do not fly; they force the world to remain still. Their very presence creates a "dead zone" for magic, acting as the ultimate counter to celestial arrogance.

Abyssal Anchorite Traits

Your abyssal nature manifests in a variety of traits that grant you dominion over gravity and the negation of magic.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength increases by 3, and your Constitution increases by 2.

Age

Anchorites are formed from primordial stone; they do not age and can exist for eons.

Alignment

Usually Lawful; they embody the unchanging, immutable laws of gravity and depth.

Size

You are Large. You weigh between 800 and 1,200 lbs.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You cannot be slowed by difficult terrain.

Event Horizon

Your density makes you an immovable object. You cannot be moved against your will by non-magical means, and you have advantage on saving throws against being pushed or knocked Prone.

Void Armor

Your skin is reinforced obsidian. While you are not wearing armor, your AC is 14 + your Constitution modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.

Magic Negation

You are a void in the weave. When you take damage from a spell, you can use your Reaction to reduce that damage by half. You can use this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus.

Weight of the Abyss

Hostile creatures within 15ft of you treat the area as Difficult Terrain. Any flying creature that starts its turn in this aura must succeed on a Strength Save or fall to the ground.

Nullify Pulse

As an action, you release a wave of anti-magic. All spells of 3rd level or lower within 20 feet are immediately ended. You regain this use after a long rest.

Siege Monster

You deal double damage to objects and structures. Additionally, your unarmed strikes deal 1d10 + Strength bludgeoning damage

Deep Sight

You can see through magical and non-magical darkness up to 120 feet.
