Homebrew Badgies Species Details
I once fought two mature dragons and won. They caught me on a bad day, what can I say?
Life of a Badgie
Badgies are born in burrows to a litter of between 1-3 cubs. They protected by their parent(s) and stay in the burrow until their hide is thick enough to survive out in the open. They start to emerge from the burrow after about 6 months. They will walk on all fours for the first year and a half. After that the parent(s) will teach them how to move like other humanoids but also how to run quickly on all fours and burrow when needed.
They start developing a wander lust around the age of 10. Many will leave the burrow for days or even weeks but always returning with new stories and sometimes battle scars. When around 14 years old they set out on their own. Most cases they will move a few miles away from their birthing place and build a burrow of their own. Many others will set off seeking adventure and to test their strength. Stories of grand deeds living bright in their minds, they seek challenge after challenge. They are fiercely loyal to their family and anyone they are willing to befriend. Making friends with a Badgie is difficult as they are easily agitated and can go into a fit of rage over the smallest things.
Beliefs
Badgies don't have a pantheon they follow directly and not what most would consider to be religious in general. They are in tune with nature but they often idolize the feats of strength of heroes and adventurers they hear about in stories.
Adventurers at Heart
Badgies love a good fight. They will always choose the option that engages in battle rather than talking or trying to be diplomatic. They will travel all over the planes looking for the next big fight, the next big challenge. An old Badgie saying, "To die in battle is the best life of a Badgie."
Badgie Names
Badgies prefer robust names of grandeur often adding to it after their latest conquest. Their parent(s) will give them a birthing name. At the age of 10 they will rename themselves to what they feel is suitable. After completing their first feat of strength they will add a title to it.
