Homebrew Beast-kin Species Details

Beast-kin are a race that whose origins is not truly known. Some believe that they came from a ancient wizards experiment mixing the blood of animals and elves, but they most likely came from elves who were blessed by Solonor Thelandira. There are various subraces of the Beast-kin separated by the animal features that they have, such as, wolf, bear, fox, tiger, panther, deer, and many others. Beast-kin are strong and agile making them strong warriors and hunters, they are also attuned with both the beasts and plants of the planet, especially the beast type they share characteristics with. Of all the other races they feel the most kinship with the elves and are often found living in harmony with them.

 

Beast-kin Traits

As a Beast-kin you gain the following traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength and Dexterity score increase by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice each increase by 1.

Age

Beast-kin reach adulthood at age 60 and can live to 400 years or more

Alignment

While most Beast-kin tend to lean towards some form of chaotic, neutral, or good due to their closeness to nature, they can be of any alignment and walk of life.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Heightened Senses

Beast-kin have an acute sense of hearing and smell, giving them proficiency in perception and survival skills while tracking

Due to their animal characteristics, all Beast-kin have natural claws they can attack with
