Homebrew Bird-Folk Species Details
Often mistaken for Aarakocra, Bird-Folk originate on the material plane and vary in a multitude of subraces. They are physically weaker than most other races but are faster and more agile. Bird-Folk are naturally adapt at using magic and they prefer to live in nature, usually forests or high up on mountains.
Bird-Folk Traits
As a Bied-Folk you gain the following traitsAbility Score Increase
Your Dexterity and Charisma score increase by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice each increase by 1.
Age
As a Bird-Folk you reach adulthood at age 60 and can live to 400 years or more
Alignment
Bird-Folk come from every walk of life, and your alignment up to choice and the freedom of your way of life.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray
Flight
you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can’t use this flying speed if you’re wearing heavy armor.
Talons
Your talons can be used to make unarmed strikes. You deal 1d4 + your Strength modifier piercing damage
Innate Magic
The innate magic that is in all Bird-Folk gives you the ability to cast the cantrips Acid Splash, Fire bolt, Ray of frost, and Shocking grasp. Charisma is your spellcasting ability and you may cast each spell a number of times a day equal to half your proficiency bonus +1
