Homebrew Doll Species Details
The creation of the Nezari, a long dead race, these strange automatons known as dolls sometimes awaken from their deep slumber inside buried ruins, only find a unrecognizable world. Dolls are made from mysterious metal, but they can feel pain and emotion. Built for an unknown reason and with no memories of their former lives they must now find a new purpose. A doll can be a steadfast ally, a cold-hearted killing machine, or a visionary in search of purpose and meaning.
Living Metal
Dolls are formed from a unknown and mysterious metal resembling porcelain. All dolls share a common facial design, a blank face with shallow holes for eyes and a nose. Beyond these common elements their shapes and build are based on the purpose for which it was designed.
While they’re formed metal, dolls are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to doll that they do to other humanoids.
Doll Personality
The typical doll shows little emotion. Many dolls embrace a concrete purpose — protecting allies, completing a contract, or other pursuits — and devote themselves to this task. However, there are dolls who delight in exploring their feelings and their freedom. Most dolls have no interest in religion, but some embrace faith and mysticism, seeking higher purpose and deeper meaning.
The typical doll has either a male or female build. Some dolls ignore the concept of gender entirely, while others adopt a gender identity in emulation of creatures around them.
Quirks
Whether due to some flaw in their creation or simple ignorance, dolls often acquire an odd personality trait or two. A doll player can choose to roll or select a trait from the Doll Quirks table.
