Homebrew Aímaquaesitor Species Details

Aímaquaesitor are a race that originates from the Shadowfell being a humanoid version of the Shadowfell equivalent to the Monarch butterfly the Blood Seekers, as such they have large butterfly wings which they usually wrap around themselves having them act as clothing.

The Aímaquaesitor are carrion hunters usually aiming to eat from the leftover carcasses of other living beings, though if desperate they will hunt injured creatures and people. The Aímaquaesitor eat the blood and bones of a creature leaving behind any flesh remaining. Aímaquaesitor don't see any difference between the corpse of a human or another Aímaquaesitor and thus their idea of cannibalism is different to that of other races, an Aímaquaesitor is only considered to be a cannibal if they hunted and killed another of their kind for food. 

Like most insects, Aímaquaesitor also have segmented limbs which can allow them to remove a trapped limb with minimal blood loss. A limb removed at the joint between segments can be regrown over the course of a month. Unlike butterflies, however, the Aímaquaesitor wings are quite tough to damage and whilst wrapped around their bodies can act as a natural armour.

Your Wings provide you a base AC of 15 (your Dexterity modifier doesn’t affect this number). You can’t wear light, medium, or heavy armour, but if you are using a shield, you can apply the shield’s bonus as normal.

Picky Eater

As a carrion hunter you are used to eating the corpses of the recently deceased, you may take the time to consume a dead body to regain a portion of your health.
