Homebrew Batoan Foxkin, Fennec Species Details

Fennec Foxkin, despite their small stature, are widely respected among other Baroan Foxkin for their extreme intellectual feats. Typically either Scholars or magicians, Fennecs tend to abstain from positions of power. Preferring to work in the shadows, these shy creatures would rather be an advisor to a powerful figure than powerful themselves.

Alignment: The culture of the Foxkin is a culture of freedom, balance, tradition, and respecting the laws of nature above the laws of society. As a result, many of them have strong inclinations towards chaotic neutral. Although it's not unheard of for some to fall closer to either lawful or good alignments, evil among Foxkin is exceptionally rare.
Languages: You can read, speak, and write Common, Patternna, and Foxkin.
Keen Hearing and Smell: You have proficiency with the perception skill and have advantage on perception checks that rely on hearing and smell.

Fennecs are well known for their natural skill for knowledgeable debate. You have proficiency in the persuasion skill.

Likewise, as a free action you can give yourself advantage on any intelligence skill checks made to back up your argument, or fact check someone else's, while in a debate. You may use this ability once per short or long rest.

Master of Academia

Fennecs are seen as highly intelligent and are well respected amongst Scholars, Scribes, and other academics. You have proficiency with calligrapher’s supplies, as well as the History skill, and are freely welcomed into all but the most secretive campuses, so long as you haven't previously given them a reason to turn you away.

Arcane Identification and Comprehension

Your mastery of knowledge exceeds the limits of mundanity. You can cast both the identify and comprehend languages spells at will as an action. These spells are always prepared and do not count towards your number of known spells.
