Homebrew Aberrant Mimic Species Details

 

A Mimic that has broken the bonds of being created by a mage & separated from the generic idea of a predatory creature in wants of their own adventures, with that an Aberrant Mimic has gained ideals & goals. They have learned that their life isn't all about hunting for food & using trickery on their prey

Aberrant Mimic Traits

Creature Type: Shapeshifter
Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall) or Small (about 2–4 feet tall)
Speed: 20 feet

As a Aberrant Mimic, you have these special traits: False Appearance, Amorphous, Dark Vision, & Grappler

Dark Vision

You can see in dim light like it was 60 feet & dark light like it was dim light

False Appearance

When you change into an object, roll a D20 and add your Deception modifier, that will be the level of Insight needed to tell you apart from a normal object.

You are also able to turn into other people and take on their appearance, though you'll need to find a way to cover 2 of them or be instantly found out. Even if these eyes are covered, people roll advantage to find you out if you choose to become another humanoid.

Appearance & Size

Aberrant Mimics will take on the exact size of the object or thing they are mimicking, they will look almost the exact as the form they took of a other race expect for the fact that the noticeable changes of purple eyes, barded tongue, & four eyes  

Shape Changer

The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its original humanoid form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Amorphous

You are able to fit through gaps as small as 1inch wide without the need for squeezing

Grappler

Grappler

The Aberrant Mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it (anything is grappled if they use physical touch on the aberrant mimic)

Ability Decrease

Your intelligence has a -4 debuff

Ability increase

You get a 3 increase in stealth
