Homebrew Cinder Genasi Species Details
Descended from genies and elemental forces where fire and earth converge, Cinder genasi carry the patient weight of stone and the sudden fury of magma. They often show their heritage in skin tones that range from basalt black and ash-grey to iron-red and ember-orange. Some have skin tones common to humanity but marked by volcanic signs—faintly glowing seams like cooling cracks in rock, embers drifting beneath the skin, or mottled patches that resemble scoria and pumice. A cinder genasi’s hair may look like sooty smoke, charcoal strands dusted with ash, or thin tongues of flame that gutter and flare with their mood.
A typical genasi has a life span of 120 years.
Cinder Genasi Traits

Size
You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.
Speed
Your walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
Volcanic Resistance
You have resistance to fire damage.
Born Of Basalt
You can move across nonmagical difficult terrain made of earth or stone without expending extra movement. In addition, while you are standing on the ground, you have advantage on ability checks and saving throws made to resist being pushed or knocked prone.
Searing Breath
You know the produce flame cantrip. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for it.
Magma Surge
Starting at 3rd level, you can cast earth tremor once with this trait, without expending a spell slot. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast Aganazzar’s scorcher once with this trait, without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to cast these spells this way when you finish a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
If you have spell slots, you can cast these spells using them as normal.
