Homebrew Copycat Species Details

Creeping and stalking through the darkness, this nocturnal predator has the most remarkable method of ingestion. Instead of depending on actual food, it feeds on the very essence of other beings, mysteriously absorbing them. On top of that, the copycat is capable of adopting any skill, trait or other quality of similar-sized creatures unfortunate enough to land in its magical belly. This remarkable feature receives much attention from practitioners of the dark arts. Legend has it that some sinister tinkerer even invented a twisted item
strong enough to bind the copycat and harvest its powers...

Copycat Traits

A thief of voice and vissage — wearing the form of those its observed. A true Copycat.

Mimicry

The Copycat can mimic any creature it has observed as a Stolen or Recalled Copy.

Stolen copies are unlimited, but have to be observed in the last 5 minutes — whereas recalled copies are limited, but the cat can assume that form at any time.

Stolen tongue.

You can speak, read and write Common. Whenever you transform into a copy, you gain one language that the creature you are copying knows. This language lasts for as long as you remain in that form.

Charming Smile.

You have advantage on any Charisma (Deception) checks you make to avoid detection and an immunity to incoming charms.
