Age

Normal Tabaxi have lifespans equivalent to humans, but it is currently unknown if Astral Tabaxi adhere to the same standard. It is believed they would be immortal if they were not injured or killed by external forces.

Astral Tabaxis do not age naturally and cannot be aged by the effects of magic.

Size

Unlike normal tabaxi, the size of astral tabaxi can vary greatly.

You can choose between small (2-4 feet/60-120cm) and medium (4-8 feet/120-190cm) size.

Speed

Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Aquaphobia

As a cat, you have an intense fear of water. You swim very poorly with a speed of 5 and will do anything possible to get out of the water.

Alignment

Astral Tabaxi are required by the laws of nature to be chaotic. Whether they use this chaos for good or evil is up to them.

Chose between any type of chaotic alignment.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choise.

Appearance and Darkvision

Mortal form:

• In their mortal form, they look like normal Tabaxi. You may choose the appearance of this form once, after which it is fixed.

You have a cat's keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet/18 meters as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Astral form:

• The astral form is the true form of the astral Tabaxi. It represents both their character and their essence. Their appearance in this form is often modeled after the night sky, with dark fur covered in glowing star patterns. In this form, their eyes also glow slightly, allowing them to see better in the dark.

In this form, you darkvision is enhanced. You can see in dim light within 120 feet/36 meters as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Cat’s Talent

 You have proficiency in the Stealth skill.

Astral Claws

You can use your claws to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

Veil of Stars

Due to their aloof attitude, Astral Tabaxi often appear in a transformed form that closely resembles normal Tabaxi. This habit has led to them being forgotten by most of society or becoming nothing more than a fairy tale. 

Your Astral Tabaxi can freely vary between their true astral form and their mortal one ressembling a casual Tabaxi. Your astral tabaxi can freely switch between its true astral form and its chosen mortal form, which resembles an ordinary tabaxi.

You can see more constellations in the night sky than most and can sometimes detect trails of magic to follow if a spell has been cast recently. You are easily blinded by bright lights, so you have disadvantage on any saving throw against effects that would blind you and on Perception checks.

Due to their affinity towards wild magic and familiarity with the threads of fate, Astral Tabaxi have a better grasp of their own destiny than others.

When rolling for death saving throws, natural 1s count as only one failed save.

When rolling a d20 for any reason, both 1’s and 2’s count as critical failures. 

When rolling a d20 for any reason, both 19’s and 20’s count as critical successes/hits. Something very lucky automatically happens to you(optional).
