Homebrew Yautja Species Details

Yautja are physically distinguished from humans by their greater height, arthropod-like mandibles, and long, hair-like appendages on their heads that are set into their skulls. Their bodies are resilient to damage, capable of recovering from multiple gunshot wounds and radiation doses that would be fatal to humans. They are also capable of enduring excruciating pain. Yautja are much stronger than humans, having the ability to easily outmatching a conditioned adult human male and shattering solid concrete with their bare hands. They are also skilled climbers, and will readily move through trees or across rooftops in pursuit of prey. Though capable of surviving exposure in Antarctic temperatures for an extended period of time, Yautja have a preference for hot equatorial climates. Their blood is luminescent phosphor green in color. Their vision operates mainly in the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.

 

Yautja Names
A Yautja's name represents its dominant feature or combat style. Some Yautja who have suffered a severe wound may be named Scar, or Torn while a Yautja that rips its enemies apart with a blade may be called Sickle or Lash. Yautja usually take names based on their class.

Languages

Yautja can speak, read and write Common but have some trouble speaking Common. Their mouths lack the elegance of some words. They can fluently speak, read and write Abyssal, and have telepathy up to 120 feet.

Hunter

You are proficient in the Stealth skill and have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track creatures.

Yautja Weapon Training

You are proficient in the shortsword, longsword, and improvised weapons.

Your Strength increases by 2, and your Constitution increases by 1

Age

Yautja can live over 1000 years. They mature at roughly the same rate as humans.

Alignment

The innate obsession with the hunt causes any lawful alignment to be difficult to maintain leading most yautja to be chaotic neutral.

Size

Yautja stand anywhere between 6 to 8 feet tall, with some exceptional individuals passing 8 feet, and can weigh anywhere from 400 to 500 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Accustomed to seeking out prey in the Far realm the Yautja have adapted to seeing in darkness and dim light up to 60 ft. 

Hideous Visage

Yautja may be allies to civilized races but their lineage leaves them with a terrifying appearance. While not wearing a Mask or helmet you gain no modifier benefit for Charisma checks regarding Persuasion or Deception and you roll those checks with disadvantage.
