Their ancestors came from many different lineages, and over centuries of isolation these bloodlines blended into a single people whose bodies still carry faint echoes of their ancient origins. These echoes appear as subtle physical differences and as glowing lines that trace hereditary patterns across their skin. Each pattern is unique to a family or clan, and the Auralith treat these markings as symbols of identity, memory, and lineage.

Their survival is tied to the legendary figure known as the Auraline Sentinel. Long ago, when invaders threatened to destroy the last of their kind, the Sentinel invoked a spell of immense power that fused their spirit with the land. Their consciousness became a living barrier that concealed Auraline from the outside world. This barrier still surrounds the homeland of the Auralith, and many believe the Sentinel continues to watch over them from within it. Speaking ill of the Sentinel is considered deeply disrespectful, since the Auralith are certain the guardian can still hear them.

Separated from other civilizations, the Auralith developed their own forms of knowledge and craft. They possess innate magical abilities that they treat as natural instincts rather than arcane study. Their tools and techniques blend simple materials with intuitive magic, creating inventions that appear advanced in some ways and primitive in others. They name their magical abilities according to their function rather than any formal tradition. A spell like Shield might be known as Hard Air, while a burst of light might be called a Glowing Bomb.

• Fleetmark Clan. A lineage defined by motion, instinct, and speed. Fleetmark glow lines ripple like lightning or flowing water and reflect a heritage of agility and momentum. They are quick, reactive, and constantly in motion.

• Mindthread Clan. A lineage woven with psychic and arcane potential. Mindthread glow lines twist in intricate patterns and echo ancient psionic traditions. They possess natural clarity of thought and subtle magical intuition.

Auralith Traits

As an Auralith, your body carries the echoes of many ancient bloodlines. Your glowing hereditary lines respond to emotion and instinct, and your movements are naturally fluid and adaptive. You can briefly awaken ancestral traits through focused intent, although doing so without purpose leaves you weakened. Your connection to the Auraline Sentinel grants you a steady mind, and your upbringing in a hidden land has shaped your senses, resilience, and innate magic.

You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet. Your glow lines help you perceive subtle contrasts in dim environments.

Glow Line Patterns

Your glow lines brighten when you use magic or experience strong emotion. You can dim or brighten them as an action.

Clan Choice

Every Auralith descends from one of four ancient clans, each defined by a unique pattern of glow‑lines and a distinct ancestral resonance. Your clan determines the flavor of your innate talents, the nature of your Echo Surge, and the magical expressions that awaken within you as you grow. This choice reflects the lineage that pulses through your luminous markings.

Auralith Composure

You have Advantage on saving throws against the Charmed and Frightened conditions.

Auralith Speed

Your Speed is 35 feet. If you are not wearing medium or heavy armor, your Speed increases by 5 feet.

Ancestral Echoes

Your glow‑line patterns carry the echoes of ancient Auralith bloodlines. When you choose this species, select Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma. This ability will gain +1 to it's stat total.

Innate Ability

Each clan expresses its ancestral power through a defining physical or perceptive trait. This innate ability manifests from the moment your glow‑lines first awaken, shaping how you move, sense, or interact with the world. The talent you gain reflects the core strength of your lineage.

Echo Surge

As a bonus action, you can activate an Echo Surge and briefly awaken an ancestral trait. For 1 minute, you gain a benefit based on your clan. If you fail to meaningfully pursue the intention behind your surge, as determined by the DM, you suffer a crash and have Disadvantage on ability checks for 10 minutes. You can use this trait once per Long Rest.
