Homebrew Chlorophite Species Details
Chlorophites are tall, bundled-together plants that live, move, and act as one being of shared consciousness. On average, one individual collection of Chlorophites totals roughly 6 plants. Each plant is responsible for different parts of the "body", which varies between each individual collection. Generally, however, their overall structure is the same - four limbs, and one "trunk" - the equivalent of the head and torso in humanoid body shapes. However, they can take the shape of many different body plans, such as the shape of a humanoid, or a quadruped, or a centaur.
Chlorophites come in many different varieties and live natively in different biomes accordingly. Given that they themselves are plants, they are naturally capable of communicating with other plants that are native to their home biome. Given this, Chlorophites have a tendency to stick around their homelands for the most part. While not reclusive, Chlorophites do not go out of their way to interact with other races both out of habit and as a survival instinct. It takes a lot of energy for them to communicate telepathically with others, so they only do so if others approach them first. If a Chlorophite initiates a conversation, then there's usually something very wrong or very right going on.
Chlorophite Traits
As a Chlorophite, you have the following traits:Leaf Whispers
You can rustle the leaves on your body in a pattern, allowing you to cast spells that require verbal components and communicate with other plants that share a biome in common with you.
(potential thing to add: gives disadvantage on charisma-based skill checks when attempting to speak to other races)
Natural Camoflage
As a being of nature, you blend into natural environments. You have advantage on stealth checks made while outdoors.
Flammable
Your plant fibers are prone to heat. You have a weakness to fire damage.
