Homebrew 🐾Adlet🏹 Species Details

Species

Adlet are a humanoid species with their bottom halves, being dog like and their top halves being human like. They're facial features vary in how dog like they are, but most have wide flat noses, sharp teeth, thick eye brows and short dog like ears.

Culture

Adlet live in semi nomadic groups of varying size, led by the male and female heads of the family, or a group of elders, when it comes to larger groups. The Adlet are skilled and proud hunters, often hunting dangerous creatures, not only for food, but also for sport. It is common for individual young Adlet to go out on their own to hunt a dangerous creature, to prove themselves to their elders. While some groups are somewhat open to outsiders, others can be quite aggressive, with some seeing other intelligent species as just another form of prey to hunt and eat. The Adlet instead of worshipping a god worship the nature itself, with them respecting their natural world and habitat.

Clothing and Fashion

Adlet usually have their hair braided, often making loops with their braids, or letting them hang down the back of their heads. They usually wear winter clothing due to their cold environment, but they usually only cover their upper half with warm coats, made with fur, due to their lower halves already being covered in a thick coat of fur. Adlet clothing is also slightly thinner than most winter clothing due to their thick skin.

🐾Adlet🏹 Traits

Adlet are known for their speed and strength

Ability Score Increase

You're strong legs make you an incredible runner, giving you an advantage against fleeing prey and enemies. You have a plus 3 to Dex.

Nipping Bite

You have a sharp set of teeth, allowing you to inflict 1d6 plus your strength modifier slashing damage. After successfully biting a target you can expend an available action to attempt to bite another creature within 5 ft of you.

Canine Ancestry

Your dog like attributes give you proficiency in intimidation and perception. You can also use your mouth as an additional item slot, but doing this makes you incapable of speaking and the item you carry must be 30 pounds or less.

Tundra Ancestry

Your thicker fur and skin make you resistant to cold damage. If you are ever inflicted with cold damage you get a plus 2 to your Con for 5 turns. This does not stack. When in a cold environment you get the bonus permanently until you leave the cold.

Hounding

You can relentlessly pursue and ravage a creature within 50 ft of you. When hounding a creature your movement speeds all increase by 10, except your walking speed which increases by 5. When you hit this creature, initially, you do an extra 1d6 plus your strength modifier dmg, 2d6 if you attack from behind. Your hounding ends if you fail to attack the creature for more than 1 turn, or if the creature leaves your 50 ft radius, or if you attack a different creature. You can do this once per short or long rest.
