Homebrew Brynjan Species Details
The brynjan were first created by the legendary demigod, smith and artificer; Faber, who created them as a protection for his son who eventually ended up dead anyways. Brynjan are often enduring warriors, wisened by time, the oldest ones having lived many millenia due to their unaging nature.
Some brynjan are okay with being worn, though this is often seen as taboo, brynjan can be made out of many different materials, such as iron, leather, copper, mithral and some have even been made out of ironwood
Most brynjan are made out of ordinary steel or iron, their appearance mostly depending on the type of armour and material, when a suit of armour becomes a brynjan it luckily stops rusting and rotting due to the magic within it but rust from before their enchantment stays.
The brynjan often live and come from the mythical fortress called custosa, the fortress's mighty walls are rumored to be as hardy as mythral, many brynjan are created there while others move there later in life.
Iron/steel brynjan
Iron and steel brynjan are the most common ones, mostly focusing on their warrior spirit, these are usually the brynjan with most strength, these are usually mass produced by leaders for war, with a natural instinct to fight. These often act as a simple physical work-force within , but also as soldiers when Custosa is in war.
Leather brynjan
Leather brynjan usually focus more on dexterity and speediness, as the second most common type of brynjan they usually work as messengers and utilitarian jobs when in Custosa
Higher rank metal brynjan
Brynjan made out of higher rank materials like mithral and ironwood spending most of their time on improving their minds through books and such, the brynjan made out of better metals usually take rolls such as leaders, mages and managers

You are made out of a material that grants you certain specialtizations. Choose a material from the Brynjan Materials table. You gain the benefits of that material.

You can utilize your reaction to give an attack roll against a creature within 5 feet of you made by a visible creature through attempting to block the attack
Natural Armour
You are made out of pieces of armour made specifically for defense. When you aren’t wearing armour, your AC is 14 + dexterity You gain no benefit from wearing armor, but if you are using a shield, you can apply the shield's bonus as normal.
Sentry's Rest
Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal. You can still be placed into a torpor by sleepinducing magic.
Construct Anatomy
Even though you were constructed, you are a living creature. You are immune to nonmagical diseases. You do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish.
Innocuous
Brynjan are generally indistinguishable from non-living Armours of the same type and material. Because of that, they can be very stealthy when required. You have advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks you make to appear as a mundane armour.
Wearable
Brynjan are sometimes worn by brave adventurers of about the same size, while in this state they retain their ability to speak and is able to telepathically speak with the wearer, ignoring language barriers. When being worn the brynjan work as a +1 studded leather armour and can choose to doff themselves as a bonus action, as an action the brynjan can attempt to force itself onto a creature of fitting size and shape through a strength contest, if the Brynjan succeeds the creature instantly donns the brynjan, if it fails it falls prone
