Homebrew Ascendant Dragonborn Species Details
Dragonborns come from close knit communities, and one's role in their clan is of paramount importance for one's clan is one's family. Every Dragonborn is honor-bound to meet the demands of that position, and to bring dishonor to the clan is to be exiled. Dragonborns continually strive for excellence in everything they do, pushing themselves to extreme efforts before relinquishing a task. Some Dragonborn hold the mastery of a specific skill as a lifelong goal. Members of other races who share this drive may find it easier to gain the hard-earned respect of a Dragonborn. For this reason, adventuring parties may become like family for Dragonborns who have ventured outside of their village. Dragonborn are unusually stubborn and choose to look firstly to themselves, and then to other clans before turning to the gods when in need of assistance. Despite this, many Dragonborn are paragons of good, and in some cases, evil, and devoutly follow a god and their teachings.

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Dexterity, Constitution, or Charisma score increases by 1.
Age
Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. Like a young dragon, they are ravenous and have to eat large amounts to sustain their growing bodies. However, while they may mature quickly in the beginning, their body slows in its aging soon after they reach adulthood due to the blood running in their veins. Dragons have been known to live for thousands of years, yet Dragonborns only live for about 140 years.
Alignment
Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dragonborn are good, but those who side with Tiamat can be terrible villains.
Size
Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Breath Weapon
You can use your bonus action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 3rd level, 4d6 at 7th level, and 5d6 at 12th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short rest and expend an extra hit die or long rest.
