Sneople

Yuan-Ti are a mix of a serpent and a human. Purebloods are the most cunning and human-like of the Yuan-Ti, often looking exactly like humans except for slits for eyes and occasional scales.

 

Sly and Malicious

The Yuan-Ti are creatures without honor or remorse. They will fool outsiders, typically humanoids, into their tribes so that they might be able to sacrifice them to the serpent gods. The serpent gods they worship include Dendar, who feeds on fears and nightmares that her people instill into others, Merrshaulk, who has been dormant for a while and might come back if enough horrific acts are done, and Sseth, who created a divide between those who worship Merrshaulk and those who turned to him believing that he is a messenger of Merrshaulk.

 

Yuan-Ti Names

Yuan-ti names have meanings that have been passed down through generations, although spellings and inflections have changed over time.

Some yuan-ti add more sibilants to their birth names to create an exaggerated hissing sound, based on one's personal preference and whether an individual's anatomy can more easily pronounce the name in this altered form. An adopted name of this sort is recognized as a variant of the birth name, rather than a unique name unto itself. A yuan-ti might refer to itself by its birth name, by its adopted name, or(especially among purebloods) by a name it borrows from the local populace.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Poison Resistance

You have resistance to poison damage, and you have advantage on saving throws against becoming poisoned.

Serpentine Empathy

You can communicate simple ideas with snakes.

Snake's Cunning

You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.
